Sheet Cake for a wedding

I made 4 of these half-sheet cakes for a wedding reception. I started by combing the frosting into waves, then I scored each cake into 48 pieces so they would all be even. I topped each piece with a leaf and a rosebud.

How did you score the pieces? Did you measure with a ruler and then mark with a toothpick? I used to work at a bakery that had a huge plastic mold that fit around the sheet cakes, and had notches where the cakes needed to be marked. Probably a little impractical for home use, though.

I just eye-balled the whole thing. A ruler would make it more precise, but I think it turned out well just by estimating.

That's awesome. It looks, at least from the photo, like it was measured. I've never been good at eyeballing it. I always have to use some sort of guide, at least with cutting things out. I do okay with volume measurements though. Go fig.
