I always have to use some sort of guide, at least with cutting things out. I do okay with volume measurements though. Did you measure with...How did you score the pieces? Did you measure with a ruler and then mark with a toothpick? I used to work at a bakery that had a huge plastic mold that fit around the sheet cakes, and had notches where the cakes needed to be marked.
