Cookies for Santa

These are the cookies we made to give to Santa tonight. I made these using a technique that I had never tried before. I colored the dough green (for the trees), then thinned down some dough and colored it yellow and red. I decorated the cookies with decorator tips using the thinned dough and then baked them. The decorations are baked right into the cookies. I thought it was a great way to make cute cookies without having to make frosting!

Fruit Cake

This recipe can make even the fruit-cake-haters come back for more! It's made with a buttermilk cake base with candy oranges, coconut, dates and walnuts. To top it all off it has an orange juice glaze that soaks into the warm fruit cake so it's nice and moist.

Oh, fudge!

Christmas time reminds me of fudge. My grandma would make us fudge every year for Christmas. I made 25 lbs of fudge this year from her recipe. The fudge that is pictured is milk chocolate fudge and peanut butter fudge. I also made semi-sweet fudge with almonds. It's SO yummy!

Patriotic Anniversary

Our neighbor has been serving in Afghanistan and has come home for his leave. He got here just in time to celebrate his and his wife's 19th wedding anniversary. I made them a special cake that was to welcome him home, and also to wish them both a happy anniversary. Thanks for serving our country...and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

This cake is a mini-tier cake made from just one cake mix. It's decorated with red, white and blue buttercream frosting roses.

Gone Fishin'

After a fight with this boy's hat I finally got the look I wanted. I've learned that straw hats aren't the easiest to make out of frosting. I'll stick with a baseball hat from now on!

Layette On 'Em!

This cake took me 5 1/2 hours total to decorate. I spent one hour just doing the buttons. It took me 4 1/2 more hours to frost, cover with fondant, cut out shapes, and decorate the cake. I even impressed myself on this one. It turned out really cute.

Sheet Cake for a wedding

I made 4 of these half-sheet cakes for a wedding reception. I started by combing the frosting into waves, then I scored each cake into 48 pieces so they would all be even. I topped each piece with a leaf and a rosebud.

Fondant Covered Cupcakes

My sister-in-law and I made these cupcakes together for her sister's bridal shower. I first filled the cupcakes with raspberry filling, then Katie frosted them while I rolled out the marshmallow fondant. We both decorated the outsides of them. They turned out so cute.

My parent's nighbor was suprised when she got this birthday cake. She took it to a family party to show it off.

2 Tier Pink Rose Wedding Cake

I re-did the roses on this cake a few times before I was happy with them. I think the cake turned out great.

I made these cupcakes for my mom's birthday. I suprised her at her work with them. Everyone loved them

chocolate FHE cake

6" pink rose cake

I just threw this cake together one night when we were having company come over for dinner. As simple as it was for me, they were impressed.

Course I, II, and III example cake

These dummy cake tops are interchangable. The tops can be removed and exchanged to show whatever course I'm advertising. The course I cake has roses, sweet peas, leaves and shell border on it. The course II cake is a basketweave cake with a rope border. The course III cake top is covered in fondant and has fondant roses and leaves with a fondant bead border. These cakes will be displayed at the Orem Roberts store to promote my Wilton Cake Decorating Classes.

Strawberry Shortcake

This was made for Leah's 1st birthday. I also made this same cake for a friend's little girl's 1st birthday.

50th Wedding Anniversary Mini-Tier

This whole cake was made with a single cake mix! It's a mini-tier set made by Wilton. It was made for Jon's Oma and Opa's 50th wedding anniversary.

Over the Hill tiered cake

This was made for my dad's 50th birthday. Black cornelli lace covers the grey cake layers for a great "over the hill" look!

Santa

I made this cake for a family Christmas party a couple of years ago. The sprinkles on his clothes really made him sparkle!

Pirate

I made this cake for a friend in my neighborhood. She was VERY happy about it. It was just what she wanted. I drew this Pirate onto a 1/4 sheet cake.

Nemo and Dory

This was Braydon's 2nd birthday cake. It turned out better than I had hoped! I drew the Nemo and Dory onto the cake. I was nervous about my drawing abilities, but I think it turned out really well.

Colorful Balloon Cake

This was for Caleb's "balloon" birthday party. It's a half-sheet cake.

Basketweave Wedding Cake

Basketweave wedding cake accented with silk flowers

Football cookies

These were made for a superbowl party. The jersey's on the players matched the teams that were playing in the superbowl.

Bob and Wendy

These cakes are both made with the Wilton Bob The Builder pan. I just decorated the Wendy cake to look like Wendy!

Elmo and Cookie Monster

These are basically the same cake. I just colored the frosting and coconut differently and didn't put a jaw-breaker nose on Cookie Monster. Elmo's eyes are powdered donuts and Cookie Monster's eyes are coconut "snowballs".

Soccer

This is an ice cream cake made with the Betty Crocker Bake 'n Fill pan set. It's chocolate cake with cookies and cream ice cream inside. It was a big hit!

Fisherman

I made this with my Care Bear cake pan. Jon helped me come up with the fisherman idea. I love the way the fish turned out. I was impressed that I could come up with something that looked so cute. I am not an artist by any means, but with frosting I seem to do a lot better.

Fire Truck

I know, I know...there aren't many PINK fire trucks! My experience with making my own "red" frosting has never been successful. Thank heavens for Wilton pre-colored frosting!

Over the Hill

I made this with the Wilton Over The Hill cake pan.

Scooby-Doo

Caleb's 3rd birthday cake. The picture turned out a little dark, but the cake was really cute.

6" Marshmallow Fondant w/roses

I covered this with white marshmallow fondant and made the roses and leaves out of regular fondant.

6" Fondant Package cake

This one is made out of marshmallow fondant. The bow would have turned out better if I would have let it dry all the way.

Train Cake

I made this for my friend's little boy's birthday. It was 4 mini loaf cakes trimmed with all kinds of goodies to make it look like a train.

Super Bowl Cake

I made this cake for a Superbowl party: Eagles vs. Patriots. The Teddy Graham players even had color coordinated uniforms with tiny numbers on them. I even made a few ref's!
