Classes are starting again soon.

This is my new dummy cake for the Robert's store I teach at. I have classes starting again in January. I'm excited to get back into teaching cake decorating. Check out my link to my class schedule and call the store to sign up for my classes! The large cake has cornelli lace with a shell and rosette border and poinsettia flowers on top. The cupcakes have a royal icing blue morning glory flower, a gumpaste carnation flower, and royal icing rosettes on them.

Cookies for Santa

These are the cookies we made to give to Santa tonight. I made these using a technique that I had never tried before. I colored the dough green (for the trees), then thinned down some dough and colored it yellow and red. I decorated the cookies with decorator tips using the thinned dough and then baked them. The decorations are baked right into the cookies. I thought it was a great way to make cute cookies without having to make frosting!

Fruit Cake

This recipe can make even the fruit-cake-haters come back for more! It's made with a buttermilk cake base with candy oranges, coconut, dates and walnuts. To top it all off it has an orange juice glaze that soaks into the warm fruit cake so it's nice and moist.

Oh, fudge!

Christmas time reminds me of fudge. My grandma would make us fudge every year for Christmas. I made 25 lbs of fudge this year from her recipe. The fudge that is pictured is milk chocolate fudge and peanut butter fudge. I also made semi-sweet fudge with almonds. It's SO yummy!
